Solar, lithium, or both? A plain-English guide to off-grid power

Every off-grid conversation starts the same way: how long can I run the fridge? The honest answer depends on three numbers — what your gear draws, what your batteries hold, and what your roof can put back. Get those three straight and the rest is arithmetic, not mystery.

Start with the battery, not the panels

Solar gets the attention, but lithium batteries are usually the upgrade that changes how you camp. They charge faster, run deeper, and shrug off the partial-charge cycles that kill lead-acid banks. If the budget only covers one step this year, this is the step.

Then size the solar to your habits

A weekender who drives between stops needs far less roof than a full-timer who parks for a week. Tell us how you actually camp and we will spec a system that fits — not the biggest one we can sell you.

Ask us about your rig — solar, lithium, inverters, and full off-grid builds are some of our favorite jobs in the shop.
